It was June a few years back when I ventured with some friends into Montana’s Cabinet Mountain Wilderness. On this occasion we hiked to an upper lake and caught some fresh mountain trout and cooked them over a fire. The snow was still very deep up there and the fire sunk way down into the snow making for a funny sight. Then as we hiked down this sunset hit hard! I love the crazy pink hues it produced. As we made it back to the car the first lightning strikes and rain hit! Turns out it was quite the storm coming up over those mountains that produced the insane color.
